With only 40 days remaining until Election Day 2016 in the USA, the 3rd Annual State of Marijuana Cannabis Conference just concluded on the historic Queen Mary in Long Beach, California. In just the third year, the SOMCC has quadrupled in attendance while keeping a straight forward agenda about the continued growth, challenges and research of the billion dollar cannabis industry.
The two day business casual event satisfied the attendees with cannamazing topics and speakers representing all aspects and various phases of the complex infrastructure of the cannabis industry.
California State Assembly representatives, doctors, attorneys, accountants, distributors, chemists and master cultivators formed the open forum discussions which included a Q&A after each session. Some of the hot topics discussed were as follows:
Cities, Counties and Bans
“Once It’s Legal I’m Getting Into the Business”
What to expect January 2018
The Federal Conflict
The Evolution of Pot
Research: Post Prohibition
The Future of Cannabis Cultivation
Adult Use of Marijuana Act: Prop 64
Keynote presentations were highlighted by Cannamazing speakers, Steve DeAngelo (Harborside Healing Center), Ethan Nadelmann (Drug Policy Alliance), Troy Dayton (The Arview Group) and Betty Yee (California State Controller).
Master cultivators, Kyle Kushman and Swami Chaitanya met for the first time at this year’s SOMCC, it was definitely an epic moment to observe their conversations and respect for one another!
Other highlights of the two-day conference included a viewing of the first Presidential Debate 2016, networking mixers and after party dinner with cocktails while enjoying the Cannamazing ambience!
