NBA Leading the Way Empowering Women, Becky Hammond Makes History!

Since Title IX was included into the Education Amendments in 1972, the vision of women excelling in sports and in the work force has propelled to higher levels.  Women are making their marks not just on the courts, fields and tracks, but in the front office as executives and coaches.

The National Basketball Association has been leading the way with franchises hiring women in prominent positions without hesitation!

On Saturday, July 11, 2015 former WNBA Superstar, Becky Hammond became the first female to coach in a NBA Summer League game as the Head Coach of the San Antonio Spurs.  Although Hammond's Spurs team didn't get the win, Hammond displayed great poise and strategies to keep her team close while definitely commanding the attention of her players the entire game.

Congratulations, Becky Hammond!  Keep up the great work!
